Govt. College Makroniya was established on 14 Sep. 2017. Higher Education Minister Shri Jaybhan Singh Pawaiya inaugurated the college on 22 Nov. 2017. The college was started with three faculties science, arts and commerce and the total student strength in the year 2017 was 249 which at present has increased upto 1500. Since the year 2017 till 5 Jan. 2022. The college was running in a rental building in Ankur school campus Makroniya Sagar. Collector Sagar had allotted 4.30-hectare land to the College in Badtuma village on 28/10/2017. The College is running in is new building with beautiful natural surrounding at outside of Sagar City. At present 11 permanent, 6 guest faculty and 2 permanent office bearers are working in the college.
Govt. College, Makroniya has always been striving to fulfil its vision and mission through its policies and strategies. Since the college is located in a town on the outsides of Headquarter, the college has tremendous growth potential both in terms of student strength and opportunities for offering more and more activities. The future growth of the college lies in its endeavor to turn it into a center for higher learning for the students from socially and economically backward communities. The college prepares its future plans and strategies keeping in mind its stated vision and mission.
About eighty percent of the students enrolled in the college are from SC, ST, and OBC category which itself is indicative of the institution’s need to establish itself as an institution for molding students belonging to these communities as employable/entrepreneurial graduates.
The future plan of the institution is focused on starting PG classes as well as professional degree, diploma and certificate courses which will be very profitable for the students of this region.

* Huge, well-maintained sports infrastructure/separate building for indoor games. The college has 2 hectares of sports ground with 400 metres track and other facilities for athletics and games.
* Highly qualified, and experienced Faculty members. About 80% faculty members having Ph.D. Degree.
* Variety of UG programmes in traditional mode. The 03 UG and 12 PG programmes provide full opportunity for students to choose the programmes of their choice without migrating to bigger cities.
* Various Short Term Courses rune by the institution with the help of IIT and Other Institutions: Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence with fintech, JCB Operator etc.
